On 7 April 2020, the Himachal Pradesh government directed the States Department of Education to promote Class 1-9 and Class 11 students without announcing the results of the test.

After a thorough discussion with Minister of Education Suresh Bharadwaj and Department of Education officials, Chief Minister Jairam Thakur accepted the plan to encourage the students without announcing their examination results.

According to the Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, so far 4,789 people have been found positive for coronavirus and 124 people have died in the country.
